Considered as accessible to every person in good physical shape, the trekking in the Valley of Markha became very popular, for a very good reason: the crossed landscapes are varied and the crossed villages of mountain are protected and magnificent. Copses of willow and bushes of dog rose will be seen all over your trek. In the Plain and around Nimaling, you can meet nomads' families called Khampa, with their herds of yaks and sheeps. This one is tough trek so come well prepared.

Having taken the picturesque road of Manali-Kulu up to the region of Lahoul, you will continue crossing a mineral environment, on the highest second world road between Manali and Leh, up to the point of departure of the trek, having crossed the pass Baralachala (4850m). The trek begins has Tak by the pass Morangla, the highest of the trek; after the pass, you will cross nomads' hamlets, gorges, big plateau before joining the valley of Markha then Hemis: you will investigate finally some of the most famous monasteries of Ladakh.

This route in buckle on the face West of the Deo Tibba glacier will lead you since the village of Sathan, crossing wide meadows covered with wild flowers, with dense forests, up to the glacier and Raulikholi, offering a panorama as far as the eye can see on all the chain of Himalaya. Lamayuru(Hemis) via Markha

This trek allows you to discover the legendary landscape and colorful culture of Ladakh’s mountain dwellers. The trail begins from majestic Lamayuru and ascends to the high passes before reaching the valley of Markha. On the way, we will visit Chilling, the village of silversmiths, and cross the Zanskar River by a cable. The trail goes through isolated villages and oasis, dominated by the snowcapped peaks of Stok Kangri and Kang Yatse (6400m). A 5150m pass gives access to the monastery of Hémis in the Indus Valley. We then drive on to Leh and visit some prominent monasteries in the region.

This moderate grade trek requires reasonable physical fitness. Be prepared for night stays in local houses to sample an ancient culture.
